Want to help people affected by Hurricane Harvey? There are several ways to do so through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries. They give tangible help, with a message of Hope in the foreground.
GIVE PRAYERS: Pray for victims, for emergency workers, and for volunteers. Read sample prayers or write your own at http://www.ncm.org/pray.html
GIVE MONEY: Text the word Hope to 501501 to give $10. Or, donate through our church offering. Or, donate through the website ncm.org (100% of monies raised go to efforts; no administration costs are taken from donations). If you are able to give to the United Way through payroll deduction, you can designate NCM as the recipient; info on how to do that can be found at http://www.ncm.org/workplace-giving.html
GIVE TIME: Volunteer to help with relief efforts. Learn more or register at http://www.ncm.org/harvey-volunteer.html
GIVE STUFF: Put together a Crisis Care Kit (CCK) which can be distributed to those needing hygiene products (and a small toy to bring a small smile). These kits can be created by purchasing items at stores like Dollar Tree and Dollar General, and can cost as little as $20 to purchase all the items. Any completed CCKs can be brought to the church; they will then be sent out to be distributed by NCM. Learn about CCKs at http://nmi.nazarene.org/10096/story.html
